08 November 2007; Short Story Slam - Hosted by Nina Tucknott
Open mic and open theme (5 minutes max.; approx. 500 words) so come prepared. Cash prize for the winner!

10 January 2008; Talk by Fiona Courage of the Mass Observation Archive
Fiona has worked for the MO at University of Sussex for a number of years and she will talk about the publication of "Nella Last's War" (dramatised for TV as "Housewife, 49" featuring Victoria Wood), and about some of the other diaries from the same collection. She will also describe the work of the Presentday counterparts to Nella - people still writing for Mass Observation about their lives in the present day.

14 February 2008; Workshop with Heather Reay
Heather has been teaching creative writing for City College Brighton and Hove since 2001. Her classes are attended by both beginners and improvers and are designed to cover the different aspects of fiction writing. She also runs courses in the community, reaching learners in places like libraries, resource centres and community groups. She has had several short stories published and hopes to write more when she gets time! Heather's workshop tonight will be on CHARACTERISATION.

13 March 2008; Talk by Caroline Oakley
Caroline is currently Publisher at the Centre for Alternative Technology, Editor at Large for Orion Books and Editor for Honno/Welsh Women's Press, i.e. quite busy! She has experience of a wide range of books (fiction and non-fiction), authors and agents, and over twenty years of experience in trade publishing.

Popular contemporary women's fiction writer will share tricks of the trade

12 June 2008; Talk by jay Dixon
jay Dixon is the author of "The Romance Fiction of Mills & Boon 1909-1990s" and is currently researching the history of the Regency novel as well as working as a freelance editor. Her talk will be on the influence of Shakespeare on romantic fiction, including Mills & Boon romances and Georgette Heyer's Regency novels.

10 July 2008; Talk by Peter Moore
Peter Moore is an Australian travel writer. He claims to have visited 96 countries and currently lives in London. He has published many books that re-tell tales of his travels. On his official site you can watch slideshows that relate to particular books.
