The evening will consist of an introduction to my work, my process and my journey from poet to published poet to poetry editor.
It will hopefully give an insight on how to furrow your own path and not make any money but have complete independence in the process.
The evening will also give the participants an opportunity to write their own poem and present it and have the chance to get feedback and look at their own process.

Simon Zec is a tree surgeon, poet and poetry editor for The Real Press
He is based in Sussex and his second poetry collection, In the Downtime, was released in September 2020. His first collection, Death of the Suburb was released in 2018 and both are available from therealpress.co.uk, Amazon and occasionally in a bookshop.
You can find Simon performing in pubs around the Sussex area and occasionally on a podcast or two.
His poetry covers parenting, being the son of a dead mum and a dementing father, politics and drinking too much wine and coffee. He occasionally covers the minutiae of life and pretends there is a metaphor in there somewhere.
Simon took became poetry editor for The Real Press recently with the aim of trying to foster new and diverse talent in the poetry world. Kate Collier’s Cocktail Bitter & Sweet was released recently and new projects will be emerging soon.
